Painting: Weakness

As I said in my last post Alisa Burke has been a huge inspiration on my work lately. I made another little painting based on the concept of free flowing, doodley, messy, bright things!

Painting done in the UWEC library again. I feel so inspired here to really do my best to be an artist and get my degree so I love to paint when I am here.

lately Alisa Burke has been my inspiration in a few of my works. I just love her take on flowers and the contrast in her paintings! This was here is an inspiration of her work. Go check out her BLOG!

These were all personal projects, nothing from college but I did take the stuff I have been learning and applying it in my work.

Inspiration: The Library

Since yesterday I've been obsessed with wondering my college library looking though the art section at all the different artists and there creations.

I've gotten so inspired over all the published works of these many artists including the Guerrilla Girls, Saul Steinberg, and Robert Rauschenberg to name a few.

I could spend days in here if they would let me.

I've got book ideas, poster ideas, and atc ideas all flowing though my brain.

Ok back to the books before my Art History class starts!

Super Moon Lunar Eclipse

Last night was the super moon, blood moon lunar eclipse.
Andrew and I were outside our apartment with our neighbor Terri. She was showing us her camera and let us take some pictures with it to get the moon.

I also showed her a neat trick you can do with your cell phone to get pictures..

If you can't get the camera to focus well when you snap the picture then just focus it on the screen and snap a picture with your phone to capture the full affects.

Poke-contest #23 [RESULTS]

Results for the Pokemon Contest are up!
Menewsha.com has a pokemon art contest and this is my 2nd time entering.

I got third place for my artwork this time!

Collage Painting Project

For my second project my professor asked for a collage painting mix of at least five colors up against one main color.

Main color is dark green.

Main color is purple.

Main color is turquoise.

Can't wait to turn these in this afternoon!

Product Updates!!

I have fun news!

I finally ordered new business cards with my art on them! Now when you take my business card it will have work on it by me, instead of some random graphic design artist. (Who are great and wonderful don't get me wrong, I just want to show case my own work is all.)

I also bought a new stamper with the correct website listed on it.

 

And along with all of that great stuff I also made my own business logo!

Art History 111 Notes

I found a way to keep my focus pretty well in classes.

Illustrated note taking!

Coloring works, colored sticky notes, drawing comics to tell the main points.

I really like this and I find taking notes this way makes me remember the information better.

Remembering the concept of Contrapposto.

If you are an artistic type like me I suggest taking notes in this way to help with assignments and tests.

I bought this skeleton cat from Walmart for $12 with the intention of making a new character out of her.

Our Weekend in Minneapolis, MN

This weekend Andrew had a class for his job in the cities so I brought him. We stayed at his brother's house for the weekend. 

He had work stuff from 8-5pm and afterwords we went around town for fun.
